What am I doing wrong??? Mag box 254

I can't get this box to connect to my router. The stb sees the ssid of my Internet and a Mac address but that's it. On the router side the Mac address of the stb is not showing up. I tried with and without encryption.
I'm at a stand still here, any help would be greatly appreciated.

try unplugging both and repluging them in

How are you connecting to the router, wired or wifi? What router are you using?
