I know, one of my toughest competitors is a woman. Her husband spots for her and she's older than me!!

I know a lot of the ladies in av do a lot of range shooting
one of our winter neighbor ladies works a CalRanch and just loves it when she has a chance to work in the gun section

lol, no, he doesn't shoot for her, he's on the spotting scope, he spots for her. He's a good guy too, she is very reserved and closed mouth..

now you have me curious how do these competitions work that you need someone on a spotting scope

long range, 200, 300, 400 & 600yds....

cool 600 yards that's.34miles thats a long way so is the spotting scope is to tell you where you hit ?
or is it pop up targets

different classes, open sights, peep sights & optical....also open, custom & sporter..

yes, most have headphones with communicators and mikes..that's what I use with Darren as spotter

wow that's cool open and peep sights at 600 yards i can hardly see that far LOL

yep, plus many of the more formal events are timed...you're working against a count-down timer....we have a lot of very informal events around here, though, fun for everyone!!
