Player:
Fixed error in current postion while playing DVD.
Fixed crash on some HLS streams.
Fixed error while playing some RTSP streams.
Some fixes in Teletext decoder.
Fixed absence of audio in alternative HLS audio track after seek back.
Fixed dead-lock after end of stream event.
Added support for Timed text(MOV_TEXT) subtitles.
Added support for Teletext and Teletext subtitles for 'ffmpeg' solution.
Fixed external subtitles timing when content starts from non-zero PTS.
Fixed duration detection for content from some HTTP servers.
Fixed abcence of AAC audio on some content.

Browser:
Fixed sending of some player events into JS.
Fixed absence of keyUp event.
Increased number of content tracks.
Fixed incompatibility with legacy stbEvent.event.

I went to the inner portal last night and it automatically downloaded the R18 file, but did not work great, going back to R14.

I never had issues with the r14 or r17 either thou.

Tested r17 and r18 its the server acting up at the moment...Once the server up and running 100% r18 file should be fine..

Well, I have been having problems as above. Loaded new file r18 and had loading error. Noticed that r18 is really not finalized. Am going back to r14.....had no problems with that....time will tell Amen to that!

mag254 boxes has went to hell won't run long and locks up and have to pull power cord and it is freezing and looping and channels downed channels with picture and no sounding and channels with sound and no picture and egg is worse starting to look like i need to move on been her 3 years started out ok and then went down hill everybody says it only cost 85 for route well it cost me 5 mag254 boss 500 dollars and 5 routes 500 dollars so now know why so many people are upset. I am sure people have more than one box like I do.

I feel for you! Honestly going forward if you decide to get new boxes at some point go with a box you control and can put other things on. With a Mag box your stuck when things like this happen or go down, atleast with a box you control you can watch other things. Kodi can be a nice alternative when issues happen. I know some don't like to deal with it but once it's setup it's easy to use and you can always find something to watch. Now iptv providers allow many ways to connect so your not stuck using a STB that you cannot control. Of course that doesn't help with you situation now but maybe once you look for new hardware you might be able to sell the mags you have?

pod77 the mag boxes was some what working before all the new files the more files they add the worse the mags play tired of plugging and unplugging power cord and channels are not worth watching with all the freezing ,missing channels, looping,i got in iks and then they said iptv was the way to go they said no down time I've tested for 3 years its not worth what they are charging for it and the egg is a joke i got a month or 2 on my year left if service don't get better before time runs out think ill save my 500 and use it for something better we will see i guess

I know what your saying, your stuck with something not working properly and you cannot enjoy watching tv. Definitely in the future when you are thinking about getting new hardware go with something you can load apps on and you control. I would be upset as well. Atleast you know in the future that you can use other hardware to connect to servers and aren't locked into a box you have no control over. It seems like every time new software is pushed out there is always issues unfortunately. I have read this on many forums. I hope they get it working again for you.

I updated my 254 to r18. Use it to watch mp4 video and mkv. It worked fine before the upgrade but now some of the videos won't play the audio portion (no sound). Went back to r14 and everything works again. Just FYI.

How can you go back to an older version? Where do you go in settings to download anything other then new version?

r14 and r17 and r18 are all still available right there thru your mag receiver.... I just checked and they are all there

depending where you are at in the menu screens, get into the Inner Portal.
If you are in Live TV and Video Club viewing menus, then scroll over till you see the Settings tab and scroll down and in there is a 'Go to Inner Portal' option.
Then into the Software Update tab you will see there and ensure the server download address is

Then Go into Embedded Portal and into Settings and into Software Autoupdate
Then in there ensue it shows...
Autoupdate : With Confirmation
Update beta versions = On

Then use the green button on remote (update Manually).
Then with New Version slot highlighted, use the bottom left hand button on your remote (as pictured on that New Version slot). That function will bring up any and all versions available.

Mag does do a reboot automatically after a file has been loaded, but there is also a Reboot Device option.

Upgraded to r18 a few days ago. Overall this has been very stable, only thing I have noticed is most channels are showing subtitles as default. On remote Mode, Subtitles, off does the trick but doesn't stick. Anyone else finding this happen ?

r18 I get the following issues:

Some VOD's won't play with sound
Subtitles stay on by default - takes a few disables to stay off
VOD's still freezing at some points need to seek back or forward to get working

I've found the previous version to work better than the latest release (at least for my needs) VOD is playing audio again, less glitchy, overall I'm a fan of version 17
