I cleaned out a spammer here just a couple of days ago, I wonder if it's the same 'entity'.

It could be. these spammers will open multiple accounts at once and then use these one at a time at their leisure.
The reason why we are seeing these spammers recently is because we changed the registration criteria. They way we had it was making it difficult for all new members to register on site here. So I changed it to make it better for them but unfortunately it also allows spammers to appear

that's a good one, yup
If you use the Brave Browser they have blockers built in. For instance right now I have been here on site for about 3 minutes and Brave has blocked 6 adds which I never saw at all

Don't be fooled though in thinking that Brave is a whole other entity then the mainstream browsers like Google or Firefox... when in fact Brave is a division of Google Chrome. But Brave does give some extra protection against adds and such things.
