EDID Problem

First let me start by posting what EDID is.
c/p Extended Display Identification Data (EDID) is a metadata standard that lets display devices like monitors, televisions, and projectors communicate their capabilities to the video source. When using HDMI, the EDID from your television tells the video source what the dimensions of the screen are.
Basically it's copy protection. EDID is easy to lookup online.

The problem is that it can prevent using your STB box HDMI output, from working on an older TV or splitting the box output to a second TV, usually an older device. I'd post a website with more info, but dont know if that would break forum rules.

In my case, I've using my STB output on two TVs using one box. In the past I had to split the HDMI and convert HDMI, one signal to component and run that though a Cat 5 balun to my bedroom TV.
I like to visit thrift stores and see what toys I can find. Recently I scored a box of expensive HDMI cat baluns in almost new condition.

My present problem is now caused by EDID. I've tried an EDID emulator without success.

My livingroom TV works fine, but I am having in and out signal problems with my older flatscreen in the bedroom.

Open to ideas?
