Authentication Problem????

Getting same error on mine .mine is hard wired .it was taking forever for channels to load so I rebooted the box then the crazy authentication error .i am only running version r3 .is it worth upgrading to 11.

In the last hour, first the Mag254 just wouldn't load the portal at all, like the server wasn't reponding. I rebooted a couple times with the same result. Now, about a hour later, it begins booting then throws the Authentication Problem error message. It appears they are having server issues.

In the past when server issues have happened, various mods made a slew of wrong guesses with peoples problems, only to finally find out later it was indeed a server problem. The mods, although they attempt to help, appear to be pretty much in the dark as much as anyone when it comes to first hand information on the server. TIne appears to be the exception.

I would set tight and be patient, not fool with the box for a while. The odds are pretty high that the problem will be resolved.

Until this morning The 11 was working fine for me 793bob I actually think their going to mac addresses for authentication of legit donors is going to be a problem for everyone eventually.

BTW, the avov uses exactly the same middleware as infomir(mag) do and it's proprietary, thks..

Seriously though, I have taken the position that it still is in development and not a final product just yet. It certainly is worth every penny we are paying. Will the problems persist when the service goes paid? Time will tell, keep your ear to the ground and remain hopefull. I am concerned (not crying) that as the system gets closer to going paid the service seems to be gaining features and loosing in reliability, and it appears the time for going paid is getting closer.

I certainly hope reliability improves when/before the system goes live as a paid service. I already have rockets paid, the decision will be if I will want to renew them.

Ummmmm I didn't ask for opinions, or post a request for help. I just watch and take note. I prefer facts to opinions, we ALL know what they say about opinions. LOL

If I read your post correct, you are saying that reporting facts from previous server outages is considered bad mouthing? The last time a Authentication Problem came up, there was a thread very similar, with a lot of wrong info posted and later corrected when found to be a server issue. I am sure you know the thread, I can post a link if desired. That is not a opinion, it is a fact, documented right here in this forum in that very thread. Perhaps you should delete that thread?

As for the threat of "knowing what will happen", understand one thing...... Many here average 4 posts a hour, 24 hours a day, for over a half a year ! Perhaps they don't have a life outside this forum but I certainly do and this forum is more entertainment to me than anything. If it makes you feel important then you do as you see fit. I stand by my latest posts as being factual, helpfull and above all truthfull.

Yes, symptoms are changing, slowly improving. They appear to be getting things under control. I no longer get the Authentication Problem, it just stops shy of a complete boot.
