I know you can't get the VOD on Kodi anymore, and there is really no reason to need it on Kodi anyways, My neighbor would like to setup his dish again, so I assume there are receivers that you can get them on ?? Which ones are recommended ??

The iptv service from rocket,nfps or iks66 has VOD on it with a ton of movies.
Now if you want to talk satellite we don't do that here you will have to go to ftabeta for that.
