Ports

can some one tell me how to open ports in windows 7,thank you.

Right click on My Computer, highlight Manage left click on Device Manager left click on Ports (Comm & LPT) Click on Serial port, Port Setting, then click on (Advanced)A box will Pop-up, bottom left corner Comport Number (click) and open, Scroll open and set to (Comm 1), click OK

ports won't come up in device manager.

you should see something like a + sighn beside it and it should open.
