I had a grandmother like that.
Every time she got a new dent it must've have happened while she was in Woolco.
I finally took her keys because my mom wouldn't.

When I was waiting for the old guy to come out of the store, soon as he came around the corner I knew it had to be him. He was like really old, a big guy, could barley walk with a cane - he walked around a 6 inch curb so he didn't have to walk over it. I called out to him (i knew his name from the witness who knew him by first name), I called out and he didn't know who was talking, he heard it and was looking all around. I was about 2 feet away.
Then I got his attention and saw right away he was in a bad way. I said to him that he hit my car. We were standing right beside it. He didn't remember. I pointed to the damage. A tear came out of his eye.
I right away reached out to him and helped him make his way to the side. I calmed him down as he was really getting freaked out. I sat with him till the cop arrived. And by that time he was doing better, but still could not function well.
Anyway, I told the cop that the old guy was in bad shape and perhaps a family member should be called.
The cop took over at that point. Interviewed the witness , saw the video, interview the old guy and then went to his car. Came back and let the old guy get in his truck and drive away. And the rest in history.
I did find out just 2 hours ago since I been home from work, I found out his address, the witness finally returned my phone just then. She knew where he lived.
Gonna pay him a visit soon , maybe he'll help pay my costs, we'll see. Not gonna harass him about it though, maybe a family member might be there , that'd be better.
The old guy still needs a ticket to show how severe this was, take him off the road for sure. I don't know if he'll ever know just how terrible of a thing he did, maybe never., defiantly his family needs to know.
That cop though, he deserves something, temporary off duty , no pay... or more severe , I don't know, but by letting that guy drive away in that shape and he knew it too, and let him drive on the road, perhaps killing a pedestrian.
That's fucked up right there.
I already talked to the cop again on Friday on the phone. I cussed him out big time. I should now be expecting to be pulled over by him and get some kind of ticket, maybe take my car off the road, even though it is save to drive.
Won't that be fun... and I am now expecting it.
