This February 18th, after 7 months getting there and another 7 minutes to plunge thru Mar's atmosphere, NASA's Perseverance Rover lands on Mars.
That Rover is weighing in at one ton. There was some anxious moments during that last 7 minutes waiting for a successful landing.
This mission will be like no other Mars Mission.
For the first time, they will be bringing some of Mars back here to Earth. And they landed in a carter that was once a lake. They know this because of pictures showing an ancient delta entering the lake/crater.
that delta will be full of 'stuff'. Historically that's how deltas work. The water reaching the Delta drops deposits there. Gonna be lots of stuff to examine
