Mag254 switching HDMI off/on

Hi,
Everything was fine for about a year.
The HDMI will switch on/off quite randomly every 1-5 minutes. It is impossible to watch anything.

If I boot to the bios, then the HDMI output is stable, but as soon as it boots into the portal, or the embedded portal then the HDMI switching on/off begins.
In despair I downloaded 0.2.18-r14 onto a usb stick from the infomir website, and booted from the usb... no difference, still switches the HDMI on/off

Does anyone have any ideas or have experienced similar issues?

Hi, bobopool,
Have already tried a factory reset, made no difference.
It only starts switching the hdmi on / off once it has fully booted, during the boot the hdmi is stable.
Once it has booted even when i am trying to add a portal url, it is doing the crazy switching thing.

I have had this happen on 2 different 254s right after the latest update 2017. I factory reset and took the Friday Jan 15 2016 update and that worked to solve the problem in both units.
