Mag 254 - Can't get it to connect to wifi

Hello. Received the Mag 254 with a wifi adapter today. I go to Network - wireless (WI-FI) - auto (DHCP). It pulls up my network when i click refresh a few times and I have input the password. But when I go back to network info, it says link status: Down.

I can't figure out what I am doing wrong? Could the modem be too far for this wireless adapter? It is about 10ft away. However, it is able to pull networks from the neighborhood. And if it is too far...what are my options?

If you are only ten foot from the modem I would just go with a wired connection and forget wi-fi. You would get a steady connection to the modem.

Try the other USB port. Sometimes I have had issues with the ports.

Thank you both for your response. I have connected an ethernet cord and the box has internet. Now it's just a matter of figuring out how to get this subscription to work!

I can't get past the authentication screen now.
