Can't make her work

I initially set up the nbcsn sports extra which worked most of the time, then later phoenix and then iptv stalker to get nbcsn and fox sports. That all gave me a decent amount of options when one or both wouldn't work. I have been trying to set up for pvr use. I have tried many ideas of how to do that and can't get it going. One time it gave me TV in the menu but now it is off again. Have pvr enabled and iptv enabled but I just get a message of authorization failed. Is this now a paid service and if so how do I find out about that? Thanks.

Easy, IPTV doesn't support PVR. It uses Kodi's PVR frontend to simulate live TV to have a guide and channel list, but PVR in Kodi is always handled by a 3rd party program running as a PVR backend that usually is hooked up to a tuner card or capture card and a IR blaster to change channels, etc.

TLDR, IPTV doesn't record.


There is a way to do it using VLC to capture the stream, but I think it only works with a manual record, no timers or anything or automatic recording.
