avov will not respond to remote

Hi all , my problem is when i turn off avov unit with the remote , when i go to turn it on it will not turn on.I have to unplug power and connect it again then it will work.Anyone know how to fix this.Thanks in advance

No i just got the box, yesterday im useing the ones that came with the unit.

Seems that somewhere it has been said that if you turn the box off with the remote and hold the power button too long it will not respond from the remote until it is unplugged and powered back up. If you try this, please unplug from the wall and not the box.

holding the power button down brings up a drop down menu w/other choices..

I stopped holding the power button down to long and its been fine, thanks for all the help everyone.
