Ok boys and girls we have a problem, this is from Schedules Direct:

October 1st 2022

SD-JSON images now require tokens
Effective 2022-10-01, the Schedules Direct service will be requiring that the user token be presented for most interaction with our servers. If you are running NextPVR v6 or EPG123 v1.7.1.8 or higher then this will re-enable image downloads.

If you are a developer, please check the updated API documentation. You may also contact [email protected] if you would like to have your requests steered to a “debug” server while you are testing the addition of the token to your code.

As of this moment mc2xml (software I use for EPG) is not working, the whole site is down, linux and windows version of the software are not working, I have no idea if it's due to SD changes or some other issues. I'll keep an eye on it, but for now I won't be able to pull the EPG, I've been on it since yesterday and I'm still at it. Looking for alternatives.

Sorry for the inconvenience but this is out of my hands, for now ;)

I got the EPG updated and pushed to git, for now all good and back to normal.

If anything changes I'll let the community now but like I said, we should be good and back to normal for now haha

I been doing some tests with some devices and acid's xml EPG
Sometime ago when I had the Xr4000 BuzzTV device I could not get acid's EPG to work. Then Buzz team did an update and this fixed the problem.

I been trying to get acid's EPG to work on the XRS4900 and the X5 devices but no joy so far, and I no longer have the 4000 model to check it with.
In fact I no longer have some other devices either that worked with the EPG URL :eek:

I know some devices are not compatible with xml sources. Just trying to find out if the 4900 and x5 are or are not.

The devices I have all seem to not be compatible with m3u optional EPG sources.
Currently I am attempting it with the EZ Player, which does have a m3u EPG URL option, but still setting that up (it's been a long morning).


My question:
Could someone confirm if acid's EPG is currently working on any device?
If so, what device ?

Working on the X5 not on 4900.

I hadn’t updated when that posted but after I updated, EPG no longer works with 5.0.775 on X5

I saw another report that acid's EPG was working thru the XR4000 Buzz device but stopped some weeks ago, before the last update.
Am currently reporting findings to buzz team with all this.

well, I think Ryu has solved our problem for us :)

It's a tricky solution but it works !
I gonna do some more testing before I say, I gotta delete all other portals so I know for a fact I am seeing what I am seeing and its not an illusion :)

Okay, I deleted all other active portals, including MAC and API and other m3u portals, so only the m3u with acid's epg is remaining.
We have lift off !!
EPG is populated fully and looks good :)

I will let Ryu tell the secret :)

Is why you noticed them missing Ryu... we took the 'plus' outta the URL script.

If you check the list of m3u files/playlists there is one listed as Generic M3U and another as Generic M3u Plus (with options).
The 'plus' copy gives the tags for logos and categories and etc...

that dash or 'underline score' prolly works as a 'directive' type thing. Everything after the dash is included in the directive. But without the dash, then nothing else is seen after where the dash was .. or something like that maybe :)

server's epg is embedded/accessed thru port 80 (to server) while acid's is accessed thru github

Unless something changed in acid's pushes and pulls... but according to Harry Balls from other site this issue started awhile ago and Joker sorta concurs with that except an update to his x5 disrupted it all.
And me, well damn, i never really know what the heck I am doing :eek:.

acid's is always more populated and reliable, yes.
But here's the thing. You can connect with API or MAC and then get the provider's EPG ... so why use providers in the m3u slot?

so, use m3u portal and acid's EPG as well as a api portal (API portal populates EPG from server source) and then have both choices. Using API and m3u portals there is no need to add or remove MAC, so easy peasy.
You will soon see acid's is always better populated with correct data. Server EPG is okay but can be improved and acid does that.

You can also add a server PlaYLIST m3u portal with server epg url entered and along side with a m3u portal that is for acid , then compare the two just by switching in buzz menus.... easy peasy to switch between them without needing to adjust a MAC :)
WE USE TO DO THAT ALSO WITH KENS EPG URL added in there, so that made 3

You can in effect if you have them all loaded into portals, just switch between at will :)

I got acids on m3u slot and XC API. I see acids is a lot more vs servers but how can I switch between epg? or you mean switch between m3u and XC api?

yes switch between m3u and api would get you the comparison between acid's and server's epg .
Even setup another playlist m3u portal with server epg instead of and along side of acids portal, then you have that as another portal to compare.

It does work! You actually only need to remove the _plus, and it works but you lose the channel logos. Tried on the X5 but im sure it works on the 4900 too. Weird tho, it was working on the X5 until I updated it.
