I bought a brand-new shiny MAG524w3 thinking it would work with IP66.

NOPE, it does not have the middleware stalker.....

Can anybody tell me which mag boxes have stalker???

The Infomir website does not make it clear...

I noticed over the past months or years perhaps, that the setup guides for the Mag device were no as clear as they could be.

BIO's is well written, but it was written when things were a bit different.

Once you are logged on to your Rocket, use the Change MAC function that is found there and blank out your MAC address (it will change to 00:00:00:00:00:00). Once that is done, you will see a Playlist selection, click on that and a drop down menu will appear.
Scroll down thru that and choose Generic M3U
Now you will see an http address appear there just below where your MAC had once been (which now would show as all zeros).
Now either copy that address and paste it into your Browsers...

I am wondering if anyone has tried this, or if it may result in a workaround Fix for the MAG / DL (Stalker) EPG guide offset problem.
I figure if it does work, the STB Time will be off, but the EPG guide data will be correct.

2. Go to 'TV'
3. Highlight the channel with the little lock icon on it.
4. Hit the 'APP' button on the remote & enter the parental lock code. This will remove an existing lock or add one that doesn't yet exist.

Just wanna post this for those that want to know what the difference is with the 254 and the 254w models.
The 254w models came out about one year ago, along with the 256w model.

How to add/change a portal:

The easiest way is to start from the beginning.

1: turn off your box and then turn it back on.

2: when you get to the "Loading" image, press your "set/setup" button on your remote. This will bring you to the "inner portal".

3: press your "set/setup" button again. The go to "Servers".

I see many people having trouble trying to figure out how to get their weather to show on the Mag254 on the outer portal.
Really I guess people don't look around to much lol
Its easy.

Do this..
While you are on the outer portal where you see TV...video club etc go to "Settings" click ok on remote.
Now go to "Localization" click ok on remote.
Place all your local info in everything.

Language...(what you speak)
Country...(what country your in)
City...(the city or town you live in)

Open "System settings" -> "Software update"
- Change current URL for updating to hxxp://mag.infomir.com.ua/r2/imageupdate_logo
- Press "OK" and update STB

Please note that only the underscore and the logo need to be added, the rest of the url is already there.
