Lambda is back with a new update: Genesis 5.1.4. Read on to find out what has been changed & what the future holds.

The community has been in limbo waiting for news regarding the future of Genesis – The greatest addon out there as far as were concerned & probably the most widely adopted and loved addon. We were waiting to hear news from Lambda about what was happening after the last article we posted shows you how up in arms he was about how to take it forward. Now some news made it round the net earlier in the week saying that it had been confirmed that Genesis was here to stay but this news wasn’t really too credible so we didn’t want to publish anything just yet until we new exactly what was happening.
Well we have news. There has been an update to Genesis – Although this does not mean that it is 100% staying it does mean that development continues and for that we say WE LOVE YOU LAMBDA! DONT LEAVE US!
October 27 Update: Lambda has returned! A brand new version, Genesis 5.1.4 has been sent out. However, the official Genesis thread on the TVADDONS forums is still closed and Genesis 5.1.4 does not contain a change log of any new changes. We do know that lambda has removed the YIFY source out of Genesis after the creators of YIFY started putting malicious code to redirect Kodi users to their website when trying to play a file from the YIFY source. This is unfortunate, as YIFY is one of the best sources on the internet today. However for now, YIFY is removed in Genesis 5.1.4. When we find out what other changes this version contains, we will let you know! For now, enjoy the (sort of) return of lambda, one of the greatest Kodi add-on developers ever.
This does show that there is still uncertainty regarding its future as there was no change log & nothing has been announced yet. So my advice is if you love Genesis head over to the TVAddons Forum & Show them some love. Or even give them a shout on twitter.
Remember guys Genesis is not supposed to be the onestop shop and I think with the growth of Genesis it has seen many people complaining about links and bits not working. Well guys! Remember this is free & What Lambda do for the community is HUGE and I for one will never be complaining.
Whatever Lambda decides to do going forward he will have the full support of the Kodi Community & Remember he didn’t say it was going to disappear he just said that it may move onto a new addon. Patience is a virtue here.
