The cause of all these unable to load channels and auth failures in my opinion

I have been doing a lot of reading here and kind of put the pieces together as to what these issues may be and these are not server issues. As per NFPS announcement yesterday the sending of the serial number is required now.

From what I have been reading I suspect that the majority of users having these issues are using the 9.x stalker clients. All 9.x Stalker clients. I am also assuming that things were working and all of a sudden are not and you did not make any changes.

Two reasons could cause this, NFPS is now forcing Serial Number (A post from NFPS states that they now require serial number) or it could be because of this or your MAC has been hijacked. The reason I include hijacked is because I am reading current posts where people are still being able to use their MAC without serial number enabled, I do not know if it affects only NFPS user or all 3 provider users.

These people that are hijacking MACs are enabling the serial numbers. If your MAC was hijacked and they enable the serial numbers, this will stop your client from working as well as if NFPS is forcing the serial numbers. All these 9.x clients except the latest 9.0.21 have been modified not to send the serial numbers and because of this you would get the auth failure. The only way to fix this would be to change your MAC for your donation and updated the clients with the new MAC, however this will not work if NFPS requires the serial number. The only option a would be to update to 9.0.21, recommended of iVue users or go back to 1.0.18.

If your are installing the 1.0.18, be sure to disable the send serial number at first as this is enabled by default. Once working see the link below to properly enable the serial number.

youre are right dvbken updated pvr addon has it hardcoded or gets around it.. anyone knows what it sends or does? coz its still working perfectly fine without any serial number visible or set able anywhere.

My stalker NFPS PVR is 0.8.3

The latter one has worked perfectly until today.

First, get the latest IPTV Stalker-mod (9.0.21) from the IPTV Stalker forum, and configure that first, with a new MAC, and the PVR Stalker disabled. Use those same credentials you created on the IPTV Stalker, and then configure the PVR Stalker identically. You then should have both working.

I think the whole point is to increase the security, so people \ freeloaders cannot just guess MAC addresses and use them, i.e. all these stalker clones that people are using for free

I also don't think using 13 zeros is a good idea either as these people \ freeloaders can just set that as the default and start guessing your MAC addresses again, you know the one YOU pay for.....

People, I do not understand why this is so difficult to understand. There are many posts that tell you how to do this correctly. But I will say it again one more time.

It is now a requirement for you to send a serial number so this option must be enabled. The goal is to stop these freeloaders from taking YOUR MAC and using it and causing you to have to keep changing MACs because it stopped working for you. You might think it is your providers fault but it is yours for not securing your MAC in the first place allowing this guys to do this and in turn now the providers forcing you to use the serial number option. To secure YOUR MAC is your responsibility not the providers.

Unfortunately the Kodi clients only send hashes of the MAC for the serial number fields if you only enable the send serial number and the EMUs may send some other generic information, this provides no security as all. All a hijacker needs is your MAC and enable the serial number and they can use your MAC.

To prevent this you need to set the custom serial number fields. There are 4 of them and if any are blank the custom serial number will not be enabled. It does not matter how long or what you put in these field. If you use the same MAC for multiple devices, then you will need to enter the same information in them as well.

The fields that need to be filled out are:
Serial Number
Device 1
Device 2
Signature

I used 13 digits for device id's and signature, tried with 3 first.. did not work.
I dont know what the correct number of digits i think 4 is enough, serial is 13 digits.

i deleted my post since things changed overnight with iks66, things where not as i assumed as they must have finished setting it all up up later.

btw. i am using the regular stalker pvr only and made up the numbers..
the initial authentication takes longer 1min or so for me, but it was only the first time.

i assume most important you want pvr back?
get a freash mac then enter the details serial, device id's and signature in the 0.8.3 pvr client.
it takes a while for the first authentication. be patient. if it fails quick when you enable it try disable/enable again (it did that to me for some odd reason)

after that try move your settings to iptv stalker if you need it that is.

edit: couldn't help testing more. the number of digits are up to you, like dara said treat it like a pin and use at least 4.
and the pvr stalker client fails the first time (it was not a coincidence) just restart kodi or the client, i dont know if this will happen to if you setup the number in iptv stalker first. probably not but i did/do not use it.

Can someone please make a proper tutorial well explained guide? I have followed every step nicely with the folks who got this thing working with the new IPTV stalker addon and pvr stalker 8.3. I have made a new mac and entered every field that has to be filled with serial and ID and signature and so on. And i still get authorization failed in stalker addon and unable to load channels in PVR stalker. What is wrong? Whould be very greatful with an well explained guide. Thanks!

not using the stalker video addon, dont even have it installed....I will use pvr client 0.8.3 but am going to try the new mac and serial, was able to get in touch w my guy and he is going to put the new mac in for me and i will configure the device id's and serial on my device.....i imagine that will work just fine....thx to all for the great support!

Not sure if it will reset it, but the MAC will be orphaned, and the system clears those out periodically.

Ah because I entered a serial before changing my MAC, and now lost that serial after changing it and starting from scratch. Is there any way to reset the associated serial?

For those wondering it seems that changing the MAC address does reset the serial. With the servers getting hammered it was tough to tell which end the issues were.

for those having problems uninstall the iptv stalker video addon first, then do as dafatmack writes above in the pvr client 0.8.3.
when you are sure that is working, install iptv stalker video addon and try migrate the settings.

it helps if you do one thing at the time and double checks, as you experienced it can easily be confusing at first.
so take it easy one addon/step at the time, you will slowly get better and it eventually it will become a lot easier.

practice makes champ. :) as said make sure one works with your credentials (numbers) and then slowly move on to next addon.
do not rush and enter lots of numbers change mac again and again, etc
if a mac fails move on to a new one do not reuse the same one right away as it still has serial attached to it until the server clear the unused mac's.

if you never had luck entering the serial and other stuff you might not need a "fresh" mac, as the one you have is probably still "fresh". heh

and if you primarily or only want iptv stalker video addon instead, start with that of cause.

For this server, the MACs for dedicated STBs like the MAGs or Avovs can not be modified by the user. However, for other users, including those who use generic andriod boxes, for Kodi add-ons or the STB emulator, the MACs are user defined, with the only requirement is that the first six characters are "00:1A:78".

To properly configure the serial number, and other fields, you may have to use a different MAC, or at least unlink the MAC by using a blank field in the donation checker, then relink your MAC. You also will need to have Kodi off, or at least disable Live TV when you configure the PVR client because the server will pick up the filled in details in Advanced when you initially connect with a "fresh" MAC".

Please follow the instructions that have been posted. You need to use Custom Serial numbers and use the same information in all the clients that share the same MAC. Go reset your MAC and go here: http://iptvtalk.net/showthread.php?8798-Preventing-your-MAC-from-being-hijacked

For the PVR Stalker, make sure you disable Live TV while making the changes.

This is a very old thread and has old information. You basically make up the device info or let the addons do it for you. Just follow the tutorials for the kodi add-ons. MAC hijacks are no longer an issue with the logon/password.

You make it up, as you do for other configuration variables. Read the instructions for configuring PVR Stalker client. Use the exact same information for IPTV Stalker P. 10.0.1 and PVR Stalker client or you will run into problems.
