Hi
Sorry if this has already been posted...
I recently broke my MAG254 remote control and purchased a new receiver. The receiver is called the "One for all". The manual has a list of all tv and satellite codes to programme the remote with a device. However I cant find the MAG254 code in this manual. I also cant find it anywhere online. I have read a lot about how to use the existing MAG254 remote for normal TV functions but not how to set up a new remote to control the MAG254 set top box.
Any help would be appreciated on how to get around this!
Thanks

I have a Harmony remote. Works great for the mag254 and everything else. Just a suggestion......

I have the same problem now. My friend's mutt decided to chomp my MAG254's remote to the point where it no longer works. Is there something fairly common I can get to use with this box? I would prefer something cheaper than Logitech's Harmony remotes, if possible.

I forgot my mag254 remote in a house and could not get it back for months. My workaround was a wireless keyboard but I discovered that eBay has replacement remotes for less than $20. Cheap "all in ones"won't work unless they are learning and you have access to an original mag remote to transfer the codes from.

don't see anything equates to menu key. I think only time it's used on MAG 254 is during bootup to being up the portals list.

I don't have wireless enabled for remote control on my box and don't have the wireless adapter either. I will definitely look at ordering another from Infomir but I was hoping there was something I could grab at my local BestBuy or other store that would work until O get a replacement.
Logitech Harmony does state they work, but I couldn't find out if they work natively or require the remote to get the codes from by pointing the original remote at the Logitech remote.

Harmony remote works great for it.
i picked up a harmony 350 at bestbuy for around 50 bucks.
Also flawlessly controls everything else in my living from, from my tv to my xm radio receiver

I think I will pick up a Harmony 650 this week. Right now, I got an idea from the thread that me tioned using a wireless keyboard and tried a USB keyboard. It works fine, even with a USB hub so I can still put stuff on a USB key to watch. Thank you for all of the suggestions everyone!
