Hi, my donation has expired today and I went to rocket to get a new one. After entering my credit card info I received a message stating that the info was about to be sent over an UNSECURED server and that a 3rd party could intercept it. I cancelled the order as I feel its really dumb to make a payment in that environment.
Have I done something wrong or does ALL credit card info get sent over an unsecured server for iksrocket donations?

are you in the USA, your visa must be able to do international transactions..you may have to contact issuer to authorize a one time transaction..

I talked to visa and they authorized my card for international transactions and while they were on the phone I tried again to pay for a donation and once again I received this message: The information you have entered on this page will be sent over an insecure connection and could be read by a third party. Again I cancelled the transaction.
So again I am asking, why are these transactions UNSECURED?

Even though I cancelled the transaction, the lady at VISA said that there was an authorization for $84 and change on the card, but that no monies had actually been transferred. That means that I have a valid card and that some information HAS been sent, somewhere.
Bad email service? I use gmail, the same one I used one year ago on Oct 1, 2014 and that worked just fine. I've been with IKSROCKET since Mar 2011 and have never had to send unsecured payment data to the server.
Nothing has changed at my end of this. And if I'm having this problem, how many others have just clicked OK and sent unsecured data?
This IS a problem

I just sent them (IKSROCKET) email. I used this same card last year and got TWO donations and they charged me $83.09. And I did not have to send unsecured data!

Some browsers have security enabled by default that's why i asked.

They did charge my credit card and sent me 1 donation. Don't know if they will charge me twice or not. They did not respect either cancel I clicked. They did allow some data to be send unsecured. Now I can't link my mac addr for mag254 to new donation number because it says mac is already in use. When I lookup old donation number it says donation expired and mac is all zeroes. So I have a new number that I cant link to my box! I find this all very frustrating.

I sent email to iksrocket explaining what had happened. After thoughtful consideration, here is their reply:

this thread was about the card transaction service not using https a secure version of http where the contents are encrypted.
every other site uses https nowadays and it is of cause pretty much a must for card transaction services.
he could make the transaction fine but was just worried.
every browser supports https it has nothing todo with receiving mails or completing the transaction.
nothing needs to be updated, there is nothing to update. :)
if you look at the address line of your webmail they is also https:// which simply means that port 43 is used and the content is not sent as clear text over the internet, which eliminates "man in the middle" snooping.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTPSin case your bored.
..As of October 12, 2014, 32.8% of the Internet's 151,509 most popular websites have a secure implementation of HTTPS
i have no idea if the OP is correct i havent checked their payment page, but its very easy and i would be very surprised if they didnt use ssl. just explaining what he meant since there seems to be some confusion.
