View Full Version : Recording an absolute necessity

I logged in today for the principal purpose of checking whether the recording feature had been activated yet. I came across the now closed thread where JJ asked the same simple question.
I joined iptvtalk from ftabeta to get the advice from experts the same as I received on my satellite. I sense there is an "us vs them" mentality developing rather than a "Hi what can we do to help" JJ, in my opinion was unfairly attacked for his question, he certainly was not assisted. To tell someone "the answer is out there if you do your homework" is NOT being helpful. If you know how it's done then share it with us all, that is the purpose of iptvtalk is it not?
Please help me get the recording feature working. Personally I would prefer that the built-in record feature work otherwise why is it there. If there are other more complex ways to achieve this I would dearly appreciate assistance.
Thanks for sharing your expertize.

it wasn't an attack on jjackson, more like he decided to be-little others and in a sense attack them.
That thread was closed for good reason and nothing to do with assistance on our part.
this one will prolly bring the same and if you read the other thread you'd have seen it's nothing we can do about it. We don't script code, nor does private service.

I could see helping someone if they did the same research and months of tinkering like i did to record streams..maybe if you came on the forum with specific questions about being stuck on a program or config file or editing xml's someone will help..but just come in here demanding someone spoon feed you it's not gonna happen..i told jj that when he IM'd me..he called me a prick lol...

Are you talking about the record function in Kodi? It's there because it's part of Kodi's PVR service that uses another program (there are many) to record TV streams taken from a capture card. The fact that stalker hijacks Kodi's system for a nice guide, has nothing to do with the record function. Record/pvr was added into kodi/xbmc years ago, way before stalker when people used capture cards to get their TV into their PC. IPTV is totally different and has nothing to do with this.
AFAIK, the only way to record is to use VLC, there is some guides and youtube videos out there on the subject.

What do you mean Stalker hijacks Kodi's system.. That is funny. Kodi is designed to be used with 3rd party back-end servers. If these back-end support recording then great... some do and some don't.
