Currently, my NAS is hooked up to my network and while playing mkv files, half way or 3/4 through the movie the sound cuts out and then Kodi crashes.
Anyone else experience this and have a fix?

It might help to know what your running it on. HW Specs. Have you played with the advanced settings? Sound like a memory issue to me though.

I'm on a MX3 Android Box....Kodi 15.2....2GB Memory....I cleared the cache through Kodi and through the settings of the MX3 and it's still crashing half way through in Kodi.

Have you messed with the advanced.xml settings. You can try to download the Advanced settings from this link and use the 2gig file. Just remember to rename the file to advancedsettings.xml This will set you network cache for a 2 gig device.

Yes I use these settings right now and got a lot of my buffering issues resolved but right now (in Kodi at least) the mkv files still crash.

Is it the same MKV file or most of them? What is the bit rate of the MKV? Is your device Wireless or Wired? If wireless are you running dual band?

It's different MKVs. Most of them. It's a wired connection. The bitrate are various sizes as the file sizes are varied for the many mkv's.

How do you have your audio settings configured in kodi? Are you running through a AV receiver?

Number of channels 2.0....
Output config: Optimized....
Stereo Upmix: unchecked...
Maintain original volume on downmix....checked
Resample Quality...Medium
Keep audio device alive....1 minute
Play GUI sounds....Only when playback stopped
Enable passthrough...unchecked
Passthrough output device....greyed out
Dolby Digital capable reciever...greyed out.
Are those the settings you mean?
No, sound is coming straight from the MX3 to the TV through a HDMI cord.
More than likely I will not use Kodi to play these files...probably use BS player or something.

Hmm, odd. It would be interesting to see if you can play them fins using another player. I have no issues playing any of my hi bit rate DTS movies on any of my devices.

So far the other player works...I'll test more files as the week goes on.
