Connecting mag 254..

Was at my son's cottage last week promoting the idea of IPTV to the local cottagers...used the internet provided by them and could not connect on any of them...Is it some inputs to be add it?? when you are out of your IP or does do it autom..some heads up on how to not to look so stupid would be nice...got plugged in at my returned at home all worked fine..they show connections on each of there lap tops so internet was OK..PS I try to read for days now have found no help in the forum and yes this is a re-post...

are you using wifi only?you should try hard wiring the box to there router....if im going to show off my setup to someone else house i bring a 100 ft Ethernet cable with me

Just because the laptops connected to that internet doesn't mean that the box was connected. The best way to know if a Mag 254 is connected is to see if it got a ip from the ISP service

yes it should work hard wired to router . You can bring it any were you have internet service.
