Mag 254 problems!

I am still having problems with a MAG 254 both route and MAC number are entered and checked! When I connect it and power it up it says (Connect a HDMI cable Etc) which I have connected then after a minute or so the signal is lost thus not going further into boot mode! I have tried holding the menu key while powering down and up but get the same results! Does anyone know of a program that can be input through the USB port that could correct this problem?

Try your composite cables first then change your bad Hdmi cable!!

Thanks but another MAG254 works fine on the HDMI cable!

As my dear Father Inlaw used to say sometimes (To soon Old to Late Smart) Glatt you gave me a hint although the HDMI cable worked on another MAG254 as well as a Jynx Box receiver it did not work on this particular MAG254! Moving it to our LR location and hooking it up there resulted in a success! Many thanks Glatt you planted the seed and it worked!
