My MAG 240 keeps shutting itself off after a few hours - the time varies. I do not see in the menu any time adjustment for this - anyone else with this problem?

What's a MAG 240? I don't see it on the infomir site. I'd move this thread, but I don't know if it works natively with the service.

My mistake - memory dump - should read MAG 254 and not Mag 240 - Sorry

Have been trying for the past four days to find a way to stop my mag 254 from shutting down. The MAG254 shuts down every three hours - most annoying especially if you are watching a movie. I have not found a way to re-set this problem. Several have replied that there is a way - but - no specifics were given. Does anyone know how to access and fix this three hour shutdown problem.

Go into "Settings", "Video", "HDMI event reaction" to set it or disable it.

I have tried for many days to get the Mag 254 to stop shutting itself off after being on for three hours - the "settings, video, hdmi event reaction" - have tried them all that are under hdmi - none of them work for my Mag 254. Any other suggestions?

My Mag 254 still shuts off after three hours. Have gone through the menu many times trying to find a solution to the problem - none have been found to date.

Left the Mag 254 on last night and the following happened - after EXACTLY 3 HOURS it shut itself off. EXACTLY THREE hours later it turned itself BACK ON. Threes hours later it shut off - three hours later it turns itself back on. And I guess that it will keep doing this until I find a solution to this "TIMING" factor.

Need to get this fixed. It is most annoying when trying to watch a long movie or something similar.

Need help in this. I am reluctant to buy an additional Mag 254 - but - it may be the best solution. HOWEVER, there is no evidence that it will not keep repeating with the new Mag 254.

Does any one else have some input to this problem?

Did you try updating the software? Sometimes if re-update the same software will work as it could has been an corrupted update.

try a factory reset to the mag 254 you got. Enter The BIOS.
choose “Def. Settings”.
press the right.
confirm by pressing the “OK”.
Select “Exit & Save” to save and exit. STB will reboot automatically.
After the reset (Def. Settings)....

After you factory reset your box, dhcp and tftp loading is the default.
To get back to booting correctly unplug and plug back in the box, then menu into bios again.
Once there go to "Boot Mode" and right arrow to change it to "NAND" or NAND2"
Then scroll down to "Exit & Save" and right arrow, then "OK" to save and reboot.
Mine did an update after it rebooted, so let the update load and it will reboot again by itself.
It will boot into where you see "Home Media", IPTV Channels" "Internet Bookmarks" Etc. screen when finished- just like when you first plugged it in out of the box.

Please note that any time you press the "OK" remote button in the bios, give it time to work because it takes a few seconds.

Maybe, it will be necessary to change boot mode: “NAND”, “NAND2” or “DHCP”.

Change boot mode DHCP/NAND/NAND2.

Change boot mode DHCP/NAND/NAND2

Enter The BIOS.
Select “Upgrade Menu” , right click on the remote control.
Select “Boot Mode” and pressing the remote control right to set the boot mode DHCP, NAND or NAND2.
Select “Exit & Save” and press on the remote control to the right.
Confirm “OK”.
