View Full Version : Severe Buffering

For 3 night now, beginning about 8PM EST USA buffering is so bad it's unusable. Every channel buffers 1 second at a time. Anyone else having issues? Never had this happen until recently. No changes on my network.

I find most nights at about that time the buffering gets real bad.

Same here, during some times of the day most channels are unwatchable. Only very few times I manage to watch without freezing or buffering issues.

almost all channels are unwatchable, south east asia region

It is not almost all channels for me, it is just the channels with the highest rated movies/shows. So just don't watch the stuff everybody wants to see :D
I hope the bandwidth of the channels will increase. However I understand, that this is not a trivial thing to accomplish.

During the morning, afternoon, and early evening it works great. No buffering at all. But as soon as 7PM-8PM gets closer, the buffering begins to happen. It would be interesting to know what times the servers get slammed with clients/streams. Since donators are accessing from different parts of the world, it's hard to pin-point a "high activity time" without those graphs on the server end. Oh well. Hopefully it's just maintenance stuff going on and gets better. Great service regardless.

same thing going on here. works fine for most of the day. as day goes on u get some buffering issues. by 7 or so it's unwatchable. i'm +5:00 time zone. obviously the server is just getting overloaded during peek times. you can easily tell this by using a program like bitmeter and seeing the difference from when it is working well to when it is not. I don't see how it could be a channel specific thing? all channels are running through the same server right ?

Its pretty dire. If theres anything on worth watching then you wont be able to watch it. I have no confidence in getting into a show or sports event and I now count down the seconds until it goes belly up before looking for alternatives.

I've heard many times a response from a moderator...when someone claims channels freezing......Well the bandwidth from your ips is being used by your neighbors at night and that is why it is freezing.................Well you would have thought the Rocket-NFPS people would have taken that into consideration when they started up this venture......

It's 7PM EST and buffering has now begun. This needs to be looked into. Kinda crappy when coming home from work and TV buffering is like this.

Certainly not a ISP issue. Speed tests confirm this.

Like I said in another post, its not your speed, its the service from the IPTV server. Comedy Ch is almost all I watch in the shop and it is all messed up for the last few weeks on all my devices at all my locations on high speed connections... But on the flip side some international news CHs are just fine if you like those

Your connection isn't the problem, speed wise anyway, even a 2mb Internet connection is enough to watch live streams, I know I tested by limiting my fibre connection down to 2mb and had no problems.
Some issues could certainly be server side but if anyone is having packet loss issues with their connection then that would play havoc with viewing live streams.

No man, u can't have packet loss on some channels and not on some others. I don't think the buffering is related to user dsl speed in most cases. Seems more a provider bandwidth problem to me, not all channels are streamed from the same server probably, that could be why some channels run better than others.

This is incredibly disappointing, as an unpaid (beta) service NFPS servers worked flawlessly. Now that I'm paying for it, it's unusable. 50 mbps on my side and can't watch a single channel for more than 2 minutes without buffering issues on most channels. Some I can't watch at all.

Possible fix, not sure...cleared the cache on NFPS in IPTV Stalker and now there is no buffering. For now.

I found when I get unacceptable freezing, I start with my modem, router, switch, and IPTV box and power them all down and back up in sequence. Most of the time this will take care of it. That is except on Saturday. It seems they do their maintenance on the servers on saturday. Easy enough for me to live with.

Was buffer free. Now right at 6:00PM EST USA buffering has begun. Unacceptable. Never happened until 4-5 days ago. Unacceptable. So this is how donated members get treated? This makes no sense. Less load (from donators) now worse than high load (trial/free users)? Again makes no sense.

doing a lot of testing and it seems this server has alot of freezing $80 is a waste for this.
if you cant get this together then why offer service to people ?
you take $80 for what ?
I'm watching 1 channel right now that just keeps freezing every 8 secs or so CHANNEL : DESTINATION AMERICA 4:22AM EST
i then flip to another channels and it works fine : ID CHANNEL
so what is the problem ?
over selling ?
like come on its 4:22AM est why would this channel be freezing.
my connect is rock solid 120/20 so its not me

I do not know about you guy's but I am totally satisfied. If you try to use playlists and try to keep up with changes and the freezing which is usually greater than enjoyable you would not b**** so much about something that cannot be controlled. It is going to happen because of the internet itself. I would like to see all of you get your money back and stop crying.
Hummmm! 4 pages of buff or just not able to watch but u don't have any humm! We must b do n some thing wrong a?? Lol!

Watched the Viking/Buc game and buffered every 15 seconds all the way thru the game. Very unusable. And there is NO ONE stealing MY signal, this is definitely a server bandwidth problem. I don't see how this system can be sold with these recurring problems. My suggestion is for all of us to ask for an extension on the years subscription fees since the system has yet to be anywhere near watchable. No TV guide, volume on the movie club is so low you can't hear it, and major freezing make me wish I had waited to get the system. That being said, I love that this type of system is here, and realize it is no simple task to put it all together and make it work right. Can't wait until they get it perfected.

Not one to complain to much about buffering but, Sky sports 1 is a joke everytime football starts, Unwatchable at times skipping etc, Think as one of the main channels people are making donations this needs to be prioritized.
Also that's when i can connect to the sky sports 1 channel when football starts, with it saying errno 61 half the time, Getting annoying
