yes, they are loads of fun. Currently building one now. I will say he should have drilled the rear of receiver to allow cleaning from the breech end and the wheeler torque driver is barely marginal over none at all, I wouldn't ever use one as they are inconsistent and inaccurate. I also like the Kidd two stage better as it has over travel adj and let off adj. Thanks for the video and feel free to join us at any time....
would like to add I feel the addition of synthetic buffer is a very good idea, especially if using lots of HV(high velocity)ammo, prevents damage to the bolt and receiver
Still don't have a 10/22 but took the colt out yesterday1071 for some fun. 35 yrd open sights

Update: well, I was working on Darren's 10/22 receiver this morn checking the fit of the new synthetic buffer stake pin and found a crack in his receiver. I don't know how I missed this before but was working under artificial light and today had brite sun coming in. I had already drilled the rear of his receiver using the Brownell's Jig for this very job and didn't notice it then. Called Ruger and being the weekend didn't get very far with them but I think there won't be any help because of me drilling the rear of the receiver which they look on as a user modification. Got a employee at Clark Custom, though, and they think it can be repaired. Long story short I feel really responsible for this so offered to buy Darren a new receiver and of course he turned me down but I could tell he was really glad I made the offer. I have mixed feelings about allowing a repair to this type of problem and will prolly just get him a new receiver anyway which leads to the prob of the custom barrel from Lilja has an over size collar due to mine & Darrens measurements of the receiver opening for the barrel. Just another day in the life I guess. Will keep you all posted, thks.....

Oh Happy Day, the Lilja barrel fits perfectly in the new receiver, which in this case is "drop-in" and not threaded. The slightly oversize collar of the Lilja is a perfect "interference" fit. Couple of taps to the crown of barrel with a small mallet, protected by delrin reference block and whamo!!. The barrel on this is refrenced by a v-block and held in place by two bolts to the receiver, this ensures the barrel is on axis w/ejector in proper place and front sight is ref. exactly on top properly. The new Clark bolt is an absolute perfect fit and I'm very happy this is working out well for me as well as Darren. Hope it shoots worth a hoot!!

Yes they do have stories and I like shooting them my 10/22 is one of my favorites infact I like 22s another favorite is my 1906 model 06 Winchester pump 22 as if not more accurate than the 10/22 if you can believe that but both are so much fun to shoot

Well folks, get ready for a long tale. I feel I owe Rocky an explanation for the absence of pics or video in Darren's build. Simple fact is Darren knows of my adventures with an un-named provider and thinks I'm a fool for being on this site. Sorry, make that "an utter, damn fool". This is the reason for no pics of him shooting in the range photos except the long range ones of him changing targets, he made me delete them. I thought I would be able to talk him out of this mind set because I really wanted to brag and show off this build but apparently this isn't going to happen. I even learned how to use the video function on my camera. Darren is adamant about this and I don't see him changing his mind in the near or far future. He is a very close and good friend and I'm going to respect his wishes even though I disagree. So there is where the matter lies, in post #2 there is pic 1 and that is very close to what we ended up with, although his stock has a flat bottom forend for riding the front rest bags better. I'll keep working on him but not to the point of pissing him off or ruining a good friendship, thks for all the time guys....K00l
