Hi,

Just wanted to find out if it's possible to have the default channel order changed? For me the first few channels are US regional news channels (CBS New York, ABC Miami... News 12 Long Island, News 12 Brooklyn, News 12 Bronx... etc.) - these are channels that I'll never use as someone who does not live in the US and am sure a large number of IPTV Private Server do not live in the US and maybe not interested in regional news as other channels.

Would it be possible to change the default channel order to reflect general popularity or be ordered in channel groups, As an example:

Entertainment/Drama (BBC One, BBC Two, ITV, Sky One, Sky Atlantic etc)
News
Sports
Kids
Movies
Documentaries
World

I know its possible to change channel order for those on Kodi via the channel manager but to change the channel order for 700+ channels will take all day and the channel order is easily lost when the channel data is cleared in the settings.

I am using Kodi, not a Mag or Avov box. I think it would be best if the IPTV provider considers re-ordering the default channel order as mentioned in the first post, hopefully the server admin can respond?

Thanks for your consideration.

The reasoning behind the order of the channel lineup is that its familiar to most of the users transitioning from IKS, as its based on the 'Charlie' lineup. That service has the 'local' channels as 0-60, and people who use Charlie just know where their CNN, Fox News , ESPN etc by its channel number. So, it may be an uphill battle to ask for a channel reorder for the thousands that already are used to it.

Avov Vixo2 can't keep a favorite. As soon as I get out of the TV Online app the favorites are gone.

If you connect IPTV Stalker into the Stalker Client PVR, then you can re-organise, re-number and totally remove channels from your line up. As a UK viewer, I've removed all the Latin America channels and all the other non-English channels, now I'm just organising all the channels to be in the same layout as UK TV is.

How? Are you changing settings on kodi or settings via the simple client plugin?

In the Kodi TV settings, there should be a channel manager and a group manager option in the TV settings.

In the Kodi TV settings, there should be a channel manager and a group manager option in the TV settings.

Using Kodi's built in Channel Manager is not very reliable - it takes ages to re-order the channels but most importantly, if you accidentally or intentionally hit the Clear Data button it will reset all channels, groups, guide and all TV related data. The Clear Data option is used quite frequently if you're having problems with stream links and EPG data in Kodi so you'll have to manually re-order the channels all over again.

If you go to system>tv>general you will see the option 'use channel order from backend'. If you disable that you can then move the channel. Then when you exit Kodi it will still stay there. Works for me since I changed the sky sports.

I can't get a custom channel group to persist after I restart Kodi 15. Here's what I do;

- Set 'Use channel order from backend(s)' to OFF.
- Create a 'Channel Group' called Custom in the 'Group manager'.
- Open 'Guide' and the custom group shows correctly.
- Restart Kodi
- Custom 'Channel Group' is no longer there.

I have also tried turning off 'Synchronise channel groups with backend(s)' and switched on 'Don't cache in local database'.

Does anyone know how to get 'Channel Groups' to save after I restart Kodi?

Setting a custom group I'm not sure about. Maybe check to see if there is an option to turn off backend groups first.

If not then just manually move the channels.

I understand the problem with kodi but Avov, mag and emulator CNN is 200 so check your Avov box you did something like sort channels or some thing

You are 100% correct. I have tried to create Custom Group of channels suitable for my region that work. Easy to do. But it wont save!!! Somebody please show us how to fix this issue

If you use PVR Stalker and Live TV, then you can reorder any way you want. Just mak sure you disable all the back end syncing. I also wrote a tool that will help you make a template so you can easily put your channels and groups back should you have to reset everything. It can be found here: http://iptvtalk.net/showthread.php?8634-Kodi-PVR-Channel-Template-Loader
