I have 60mbs and I still have freezing from time to time, even buffering. This has nothing to do with speed but the server traffic. You still need at least 2mbs for most stability. If you are close to a distribution box for your internet then 1.5mbs can work, but if you have some distance then there is slow down of speed with distance. I have some friends with adsl and only have dial up speed. Cable is available, but I cannot talk them into switching.

I have a 150Mbp down 50Mbp up and still get freezing every 15 minutes changing the DNS does nothing for this. I think part of the issue is they are still working on the servers. The other issue is after the connection leaves my ISP's network you can see the latency jump from 25MS to a 200-300MS range this is way to high to keep a stable connection and when you calculate in jitter it just compounds the issue. Max hops for me to the server shows 6 so that is not bad just once it hits there system is when it looks like the issues occur and hence the freezing. The optimal range for this should be around 120MS to 190MS anything above you will get issues. Now if there a VPN that someone is using that is maybe closer to the host site id be curious to see that!

In addition to the internet speeds, I noticed that the device you use to stream plays a great role. I have tried 5 different devices and to be honest, a mini-pc is the best out there. My fireTV is not bad, but the FireTV stick or shaky. Streams almost start instantly on my Zotac PC, a little faster on FireTV but takes a while to start on FireTV stick.

Majority of isp`s do throttle conenctions so than can play a part in freezing ans buffering.

Bkman2020 read up on net neutrality for the USA throttling is not allowed anymore if you find an ISP doing this you can report them to the FCC. Now if you are outside the USA not sure how it affects you.

Now you are talking about "allowed usage" you are correct most ISP's have a cap or consumption limit mine is 1.5TB per month. Yes if you go over and they technically can throttle you and if they did I would still report them as they are required to send you notice that they are throttling you for "over usage" still part of net neutrality. I suggest you read it!

i can stream anything (except NFPS) and game without so much as a hiccup, but you have the holy grail of devices so it must be the rest of us....lol I can find a handful of channels that are viewable at any given time, but i dont think that was the idea of this thing. I personally like to bounce between games or sports programs, but I guess you can find the one stable channel and stick with it.

I went to the thread Upcoming IPTV FAQ to try to resolve my freezing issues. I went to the recommended speed test (speedteset wowway.com my results are ping 253 ms/ download 5.47 Mbps / upload .33 Mbps Im on a mag254. not sure what those results really mean

I also went to pingdom.com and entered my internet provider and it said the tracer route was 44 ms and the ping all 5 packets were lost lol. So I guess its my provider . Maybe these tools should be linked or added somewhere on here for people to diagnose there connection issues. Probably stop some complaining :D

I also just did a test on the same site for ( Test DNS servers and settings for a domain name ) and the test contains errors. I tried to watch Dr Pol on Nat Geo wild and had to turn it off cause of the lag issued but I watched the same new episode on You Tube without a hitch.
