some soups I like: hints: I use cut up country cured ham rather than hocks in the ham & bean soup. I also soak beans overnite rather than the quick method
in the minestrone I use penne pasta and add a sliced up link or two of salsicca (Italian sausage). I may or may not add links sliced of Brats to the split pea soup
or the Lentil soup....have fun with em.....enjoy

I tried your chicken soup or came close to it anyway. Was great :)
Haven't tried this one yet, even thou I grabbed the .pdf awhile ago.
But it's gotten cold out here again and my soup pot is empty :eek:

I never used the rice in the Chicken soup, but did add the corn thou... And I could not find the vegetable 'okra' anywhere. I guess it would have added stalk to the soup/gumbo
Still thou, damn fine. I used extra tomato juices too and broth :)
And pepper :)
Was like soup.. Next time, I'll make it more like gumbo.
But first this one here posted, I'll have to try soon :)

check the frozen vegetable area of your market, comes in a bag and already sliced...don't use canned, it will cook away to nothing...
