linking mac address

Hello,
I know nothing about computer networking.
so this may be a really stupid question
to link my rocket donation do i use the MAC address that's listed on my MAG250

I'm new to this iptv (I'm retiring the Kbox and an Ipro2000)

Should I wait to do this before I set up the Mag250?
