helpwith fire tv stick remote

got a new fire tv stick remote off ebay and trying to get it working on my fire tv box , does nothing , tried 2 diff fire tv boxes , don't have fire tv stick to try it on ,anyone have problem getting this fire tv stick remote to work on ur fire tv box ,tried diff batteries ,held home button down long time , get nothing ,just wondering have this problem and got it working?

Hold the home button for 10 sec and then release, it will detect and pair the remote to the fire TV stick

tried that a lot , held for mins at a time , get nothing , don't know if remote is bad , I assume its good as its a new remote

which remote did you buy for the fire stick

take a iPhone or android phone download the Amazon TV app make sure the Amazon
Fire stick and your phone are on the same network put your phone on wifi go to setting
Controllers and Bluetooth devices pick Amazon fire stick remote,add new remote if that
Don't work your remote is defective.

oh was thing its for fire stick and its for your fire tv box

He have an Amazon TV box asft....but it doesn't matter they both work with the same remote.
I tried it before and he can use the fire stick remote to control the Amazon TV box.

ya have the fire tv box , went into remotes in settings on the box and tried to add remote , still didn't work , tried it that way with my real fire tv remote to get me that far , I never tried through phone yet ,I say remote is bad

Yeah,definitely just call Amazon and tell them to send you a replacement remote.

yea all it will cost you is time and money to ship it back
