When I went to the inner portal it had a auto update. I told it ok and now that it has updated it seems to be running just fine now. It has not froze in 15 mins which is a record for mine. I will watch and update you on it. Thanks for the info

Must be either the way you have the Internet connection setup, or some external problem set mine up, and it is loading a channel in just a second or two, how long does the blue bar stay up? I have mine hooked to a game adapter, through the cat 5 port too. Check all of your connections first then run the speed test.

I have tried both wired and wireless and still the same. I have a avov box that hooked up wireless and it has not frozen even once I connected to the server. It connects in just a few seconds when it comes up

mag 254 was freezing bad on hd channels until I cleared the browsing history on my lop top. no more freezing. hope this info helps.

My system plays movies via mx player when I start a movie via the stb emulator on my android box. cant remember exactly how I got it to play via MX player, does this always happen, or did I set it up through "RC - SETUP" on STB emulator?(Too many clicks have gone by and I see I cant access sub menus under RC any more either) Anyways I just go to MENU - TOOLS - PROPERTIES in MX player to get the resolution.

Bush posted that he cured his freezing by changing the network setting to manual and used 8.8.8.8 for the DNS and all was good. I changed mine and so far after 45 minutes it has not frozen for the first time. Maybe this will help somebody that is having the same problem. Thanks for all the help from everybody on this trouble.

Hotrod11 I felt your pain.
I set up my MAG254 around 8am this morning and had freezing issues also. Like you my youtube videos worked without freezing, I was only having issues with the HD Movies.
Gave up around noon after trying many workarounds and reboots. Powered the box up this evening and it is working flawlessly now, didn't do a single thing to it other than turn it on, go figure.....
Keep us posted if you have anymore freezing issues.

My two bits worth, I believe the freezing is not because of setting on the Mag units but rather the server itself, some time it works flawless, other times it freezes like crazy (without any changes on my Mag254), it may be possible to reduce the freezing somewhat by setting the buffers or changing the network settings but most of it has to do with the bandwidth at the server side, settings and traffic. After all it is in testing mode so the providers are probably tuning and testing equipment to see the effects.

Please let us know if the freezing comes back for you. I have not tried this yet for myself as sometimes it is unwatchable and other times it is perfect. If the bad freezing starts again I will try the network settings you did. I am hoping now that they are playing with the servers and that changes to my MAG 254 would not make a difference. But if your freezing does not come back that looks like a worthwhile change to try. Please let us know your progress. TIA :)

Just checked two newer and two older movies all showed as 480i by my TV info, but newer ones were better to watch for resolution by the eye method than the older ones.

The color bar and " we are experiencing tech. difficulties" message is what I always got with both on 455 coming channel. Is that what you're referring to, because it's still the same here.

The color bar that appears on Avov's is not being broadcast by the private server. That bar is built in to the tvonline app from avov. It's probably there when they can't fetch the channel listed. I saw the same screen when trying out other private servers and channel was offline.

No issues with the VOD streaming but after watching high quality 720p Bluray rips and youtube vids, it's difficult to watch a movie in lower quality. Don't think the live tv would be much better as it is supposed to use less bandwidth than the VOD service.
On the bright side, the quality can only get better in time with newer codecs and with broadband speeds increasing.

most of the time the box connects just fine, sometimes it does not.also,( i think it's the box) the portal loading time is slow.
Had an audio drop out, and box freeze on the movie maleficent
loading times are excellent

Just an update on earlier post...I was experiencing freezing with the MAG254. All is good now, it only happened for a couple of days. plus I i did the latest update on the mag254...I dont know if that helped.
Well Im getting rid of cable this week...hopefully we will get that iptv service soon.

Hopefully it is just the trial that is SD. If the full release is not HD, then whether it is worth signing up for will depend on price versus up time, content etc. At the moment the Satellite STB option is overall pretty good - excellent quality and relatively decent uptime.

This new technology may be better uptime than satellite, but at what quality? I've noticed that when streaming sports, say ESPN or TSN in HD, that there is a "stutter" in the image. I wonder if that is typically the case with ALL streamed network video media? Ie - is it the networks that limit their output, or??? And will this be the case with this new iptv technology? I've streamed HD video clips off utube which dont have stutter, so Im sure its possible, the question is - is it available from the networks? For reference my download speed is 5Mbps.

If the cost is reasonable, Im thinking the best plan will be to have a Satellite system as primary, as it will likely be the premium quality, and have the IPTV as backup.

Regardless, its an everchanging world we live in - I suppose we're lucky to have what we have...

No. Of course we have been testing the boxes, but no one of authority has ever said that the emulator is on the list as a recommended STB. I certainly wouldn't recommend it yet, even though it works, because of the yet to be determined issues with authentication when the service becomes 'live'.

The media player built into the emu causes that. Install vlc player, mx player, or just about any player to get it to work. After you get a media player installed, hit the menu button on your remote, choose media player, and then always use your choice.

Not at this time. To be honest, you have a much bigger and current variety of on-demand material using other Kodi add-ons than you would with the iptv server.

Problem while watching VOD (SUNDAY, 19TH)

"Need for speed" would not play yesterday

"Mad Max" stopped mid way and took ME us to Menu. I tried to play the movie on VOD again and the movie would not start.
