Canada Postal Workers have been locked out and negotiations have not helped any, in resolving the issues.
So yesterday or day before Purolator and UPS both have stopped making deliveries in Canada. Any packages in transit will be delivered but no new packages will be accepted for delivery in or out of Canada.
Fed Ex is still operating in Canada.
I recently used FedEx to deliver a package to California (this was before Purolator and UPS made their recent announcement).
So that cost 44 CND dollars.
Package arrived at destination but needs to be returned.
FedEx is charging 144 USD (202 CND) to return it.

It was $44 before Purolator and UPS froze and is now $202 with Purolator and UPS outta the picture.
is that a price gouge at the highest level or what ?

Anyway, there it is... Our delivery services here in Canada officially SUCK and probably in a criminal way.

I never seen that. do you have a link to see whats going on? Is it just cross border or no service at all in Canada?

you can find it in most Canadian news outlets, Global and such.
I first saw it from a small business owner in BC , one of my my sisters sent me a message about it ( I gots lots a sisters) :)
She received a notice through email from UPS, as she has been a small buisness member client with them so they tell alert her of these things.

Then this thing with the package sent from here with FedEx and then returned here with FedEx at triple the costs (after the lose of the other couriers here in Canada)

I have a Canada Post member thingy too for shipping and I get emails daily on the progress of their strike /lockout.. but of course that is one sided biased, it does come from Canada Post after all.

Did I mention Canada Post owns Purolator ?
Well it does, they do.

Just sayin'

That's nuts Marley

Friday, the Labour Minister of Canada Steven MacKinnon, said he has referred the dispute to the Canada Industrial Relations Board, with the aim of ordering the nearly 55,000 workers back to work and extending the current collective agreement until May 22, 2025 ? if the board determines a deal isn?t within immediate reach.
Canada Post reviewing the details of the Minister of Labour?s announcement.

The weekend is over now. There has not been an order yet. We should be hearing more today though.
