Unboxing the P6 is a very nice experience and is exactly same type of unboxing as the X5 SS was.
They are packed very well. Always with the shock guard material inside the box, for shipping. The device itself is set right into this shock material. Very nice. It always is with these BuzzTV devices.
The RCU is the BT500
The BT500 is a Bluetooth - IR and has the Mic button along with Back-light.

This P6, as with all new Buzztv devices, is shipped with a HDMI cable.
In the past when I test devices and if I had a certain issue the tech guys would always ask if I was using the HDMI cable that came with the device, so after awhile I kinda figured that was important :)
I know it would not matter with many devices but this P6' HDMI had 8K stamped on it, so probably a good idea it :)
So I connected the HDMI and Power and then went thru initial setup, with the RCU Bluetooth setup and WiFi settings and screen size and time zone and etc..
there was a new step in there too which was to select your type of WiFi security (the WAPP thing)
After that was done the screen popped over to the Update screen. And there was an OTA Update there waiting. I could not click on the Update in this particular screen, so I exited on to Home Screen and went to Settings.
HomeScreen > Settings > Updates.
I did the Update, which took a few minutes.
So with that all done, I started to explore this P6
The Home Screen shows the onboard Apps which have been previously installed.
The Buzztt5 and the BuzzTV6 apps are there. An App/APK Installer, Aptoide Market, Google Play, DRM app, Speed test app and a few others. VLC Player is there too.
The Buzz Utilities menu shows the Home Screen options.
With recent Buzztv devices we usually see 4 Home Screen options, but with the P6 there are 5 with the BuzzTV 6 being the 5th one.
Buzz Utilities menu has other important options to explore.
Home-Screen > Settings > Device Preferences ----- another menu with some fun stuff in there :)
the Sever setup menus are a bit different in their screen pages then previous devices, but do the exact same thing.
There are 3 methods to connect to a Server
1. MAC
2. XC
3. M3U
I see in the MAC method the Buzz team has preloaded the MAC ID (Server ID), so we no longer need to enter that thru a keyboard. That's a very nice addition to see :)
there is a new option seen in the settings, which is called 'Edit Style' and seems to be a way of changing your Home-Screen appearance and Apps too, Rows and columns and stuff. Would need to play around with that later to get familiar with it's functions.
So that's about it for this unboxing thread.
