Fires reach Jasper

Everything that could have went wrong on Wednesday, did go wrong.
Fires have reached Jasper's townsite Wednesday evening.
Jasper is located in Canada's Rocky Mountains on the border of Alberta and British Columbia.
The town is at the western edge of the Jasper/Banff Provincial Park, with Banff located at the eastern edge.
Jasper, Banff and the park are world-wide tourist attractions, although these days with Trudeau's policies, Canadians have been paying fees to visit the Park while tourists and other foreigners get in for free. Trudy is a tyrant against his own peoples, but that's another story.

really bad news as it is such a beautiful town and the deaths/ loss of habitat for all the wildlife in the area is hard to quantify not to mention the loss of revenue in this busy time of the year. I hope lots of rain come and puts the fires away.

yup, I knew that.
The same ineptness was seen here in Alberta almost 20 years ago when the town of Slave Lake burnt down, then 6 or 8 years later the town of Fort MacMurray, same chit under Premier Racheal Notley.
It all could have been prevented if the government would have did their jobs.
They were talking about all this in parliament for years, pleading with the government to do something about the tinder areas just waiting to catch fire. they even said back then that Jasper was a tinder box just waiting to be burnt down. TThere were proposals to do things like cut trees down along roadsides and rivers , to help create a fire stop, but instead the exact opposite happened. Because of the climate freak hoaxers and green huggers they planted more trees in these areas and included in the towns too.
And we see the results of all that.

they even cut down trees in the forestry cut-lines to block human traffic (quaders and the like), BUT that also stopped firefighters from accessing areas deep in the woods that they may and do need access to.
