Not sure the cost of game 4 tickets are but game 3 in Edmonton had the cheapest seats in the house, nose-bleed seats, @ $1200 or $1300
and with the good seats upwards of 6 thousand dollars , yes that's $6000 with 3 zeros.
I was listening to a radio show about these prices and the idiot hosting the show says if people will pay, then let them high prices stand. He also says that there are enough rich people in the city to fill 75,000 seats at them prices and so too bad for others.
What a slap in the face to the working man who are some of the team's biggest fans.
And with the team probably going to loose again tonight I wonder how those people feel about having already paid the crazy high ticket prices.
This year's playoffs have topped all other events for the highest ticket prices ever by far, only other thing would be a Taylor Swift concert :eek:

The NHL is so woke, it's pathetic. I was a huge hockey fan up to a few years ago, about the same time they fired 'Mr. Hockey' himself, Don Cherry, for saying something that the alpha-bit people did not like.
If you know Don Cherry then most anything he says could be something the alpha-bit people would cry about.

Yea, that sign went up in 1988 and was taken down about 10 years ago.
Ironically, the year 1988 was when Peter Pockington (team owner) traded Gretzky. The fans were so upset they and the Players went to the House of Commons to lobby the government to block the trade. The Players also threaten to strike without Gretzky on the team.
A bunch of other star Players were traded or left the team during those few years too. Peter Puck was a hated man in Edmonton back then.

The city said they put up the sign as a welcome to Olympic sports events and to show they had what it takes to hold a Olympic event. Mostly cause back then and prior to, Edmonton and Calgary sometimes played as the same team in certain leagues, just alternated games to play.
I think Calgary hosted Olympics that year or there abouts. And I think some events were held in Edmonton, I can't be sure of my memory about that thou.
But that sign always meant to the people of Alberta that it was for the Edmonton Oilers Hockey team and the football team too (who were a dynasty themselves for a few years).

I had hated seeing that sign thou, and was glad to see it taken down, as long as it was there it had always reminded me of the year we lost the Great One :(
