Children of tomorrow
I apologize to you
On behalf of those in my time
For the things we didn't do
We didn't stop the tyrants
So your fate could be prevented
We watched them steal our freedom
By our silence we consented
We didn't choose to circumvent
The doom you've not escaped
While the Bill of Rights was murdered
And the Constitution raped
Some of us were lazy
Others too afraid
To think about our children
The ones we have betrayed
I guess we were too busy
To be concerned or care
To try to ease the burden
Of the chains we made you wear
We could have been good shepherds
When the wolf got in the fold
But we watched the flame of freedom die instead
And left you cold

I'm sorry we were timid
My selfish generation
We left you but a remnant
Of a free and prosperous nation
I'm sorry for our actions
Like cowards we behaved
We could have left you freedom
Instead you are enslaved
Children of tomorrow
Descendants of our land
I'm sorry we allowed this
The fate you now with stand

end c/p

I am not sure who wrote this poem 'Children of Tomorrow'
I think it was Maxwell Igan.
Max is and has been an activist against crimes to humanity , among other things.
He has been personally hit very hard due to what's been recently happening in the Middle-East. His latest video is very telling in that sense., so is the poem quoted above.

Unbelievable friends. :(
Seems like fire of world war (probably the last war) spreading a lot faster than anybody can think of. :(

Along with the 10s of thousands killed in Gaza during the 'cleansing' of the Palestine people, there have also been 82 journalists killed in Gaza, West Bank and other lying areas.
Refeat Alareer was one of them. He was targeted specifically and killed yesterday, along with his sister and children.
He knew he was gonna be killed because the IDF had told him as much, I kid you not.

During his last days or perhaps hours of his life, he wrote this poem, shown below.

If I must die,
You must live
to tell my story
to sell my things
to buy a piece of cloth
and some strings,
(make it white with a long tail)
so that a child, somewhere in Gaza
while looking heaven in the eye
awaiting his dad who left in a blaze-
and bid no farewell
not even to his flesh
not even to himself-
sees the kite, my kite flying up
above
and thinks for a moment an angel is there
bringing back love
if I must die
let it bring hope
let it be a tale

RIP Refeat Alareer
