With our lack of snow over the winter and hardly any rain this spring, Alberta is a tinder box
We have the Rocky Mountains to the west from north to south.
Central Alberta is fairly safe due to not being in the forested areas, but not by much.

Towns and townships have and are being evacuated since 10 or 12 days ago now.
Stay safe my fellow Albertans and stay informed.

We have had some hot weather this spring (30 degrees Celsius last week). We have had rain and cooler temperatures starting late Saturday evening and continuing thru today, but not enough yet

Where I live is outta the danger zones but Drayton Valley, a couple hours away, is on fire and evacuated since the fires started creeping into town late last week :(

Stay safe people and stay well informed thru government websites and other alerts.

Been raining since last Saturday evening, just light rain thou, not enough to make much difference, until last evening that is.

It dumped on so hard and fast that the roads filled up and were running up onto the sidewalks at a 6 inch curb height. The water was literally flowing uphill
Lightening and Thunder Boomers all nite, with tons of rain most of the nite with it.
Not sure how well this has helped douse some of these current wildfires, but with the amount of that wet stuff we got last evening it should have helped some :)

"Despite light showers and a decrease in temperatures in parts of the province, Alberta’s wildfire situation remained volatile Wednesday as firefighters raced to contain the 85 active wildfires — 26 of which are considered out of control — across the province in the second week of burning."

Northern Alberta is on fire, AGAIN.
Major city hubs have been evacuated or are being as we speak.

Areas include:
Fort McMurray
Grande Prairie
Fort Nelson

All Oil and Gas locations and in the heart of our Canada wide forest system.?. Coincidence?
This is arson, there is no doubt about it.

Looks like mother nature is finally helping out.

That's the best news all week.

The Fort Nelson BC community is so close to being swept up in the fires :(
