something is or had been going on with amAzon devices. It started awhile ago. I do not know the particulars or if it is even relevant.

It's funny that they still use the so-called method (jail) in fire tv which no no you can't do jail break hahaha.
Now, as RUY says, you have to put more info and I'll give you an example because when Ruy asked you, you only put (kodi - Jail bro) hahaha (jail)
1- version of kodi you use
2- you activated the Input streams and I mean the 2
3- when you comment that it only hangs around, it does so in all the addons or only 1 in specific
4- you cleared all the caches of the temp data folders to improve its boot performance
These are some little things that you can verify since I have some firetv and as I said in other posts they are 100% working
