Drama, Horror, Mystery Movie 2016
Directed by: Dan Trachtenberg
Actors: John Goodman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, John Gallagher Jr.
Plot: A young woman wakes up in a basement. It is owned by a man who claims he saved her life after pulling her from her overturned car which violently crashed along the highway. The man states that the world above them is no longer safe and is now a danger zone that threatens the rest of humanity. With no knowledge of what actually lies above and trust running thin between them, the woman questions what's true and what's not. Is the man a delusional psychotic that has a more sinister agenda for her? Or is it really hell on earth above ground like he swears?
My take: It isn't very often that you can go see a movie at the theater but I had a good feeling on this one. Even more rare is when a movie like that delivers a wholly original story that's even more satisfying than I ever thought it would be.
'10 Clover-field Lane' is a perfect reminder that films can still surprise us, delight us, and horrify us in a way that's never been done before. Dan Trachtenberg will be a force to be reckoned with in the future. I can't wait to see what he does next. Of course, J. J. Abrams and Bad Robot help boost this director up.
As far as acting is concerned, Mary Elizabeth Winstead gives a great performance, and shows a strong lead character who's completely believable in a situation that plays out like a horrible nightmare. Speaking of bad dreams, John Goodman turns in a performance unlike anything he's ever done before, and manages to be both strangely sweet and unbearably creepy. if you have seen John Wick he plays a similar type of character and damn he is good at it.
if you like a good suspenseful show with twist of did that just happen give this show a try I am sure you will enjoy every moment!
