McCartney wanted this song to sound like he'd been singing it for a week. He wanted that effect.
John Lennon loved it and knew exactly what Paul wanted and offered to take it on , cause John knew he could make it so with his voice and style... but Paul said no and what he then did was go into the studio everyday and do this song over and over again... did that for a week or two and then recorded it.
