View Full Version : Good to have the EPL back!
Right now (7:30 AM ET start), on NBC Sports, Manchester City is playing West Ham United. It has taken a little bit for Man City to show their championship form, but they're now starting to dominate.
Tottenham (my favorite...remind me a little bit of the Mets of yesteryear) plays Aston Villa at 12:30 PM ET.

With Liverpool winning 4-1 and Man city up 4-0 near the end they have sent markers up the other teams shudder at.
Agreed... Liverpool looked strong yesterday.
Man City added one more goal for a 5-0 win. They had one goal disallowed for offsides (barely) as well.
The revitalized Aston Villa are leading the Spurs 1-0 at 35:00 :(
Ndombele with a goal to knot the game at 1-1.
Woohoo... Kane '85 with a goal. Spurs now leading Villa 2-1.
Kane '89 with another goal. Spurs leading 3-1 as they move into stoppage time.

Saw the second half of New C v Ars nothing to get excited about both need to improve to challang for the top places.
Saw most of Chel. v Man u to me Chel looked inept and changes will be needed or they will be fighting at the C.P. level.
Man U were not that good but did have the speedy youngsters like Rashfurd.
Yes, indeed. Chelsea didn't show up for the match. I was hoping Pulisic would have a decent debut, but Chelsea's ineptness squashed any hope of that.
It'll be interesting to see what kind of game Tottenham can mount against Man City next week. I don't think Alli or Son will be able to play yet, so it will be a formidable task, but I still have my hopes.

Will definitely watch next week!!
Tottenham v Man City at 12:30 PM ET.
Lamela 22' ties the match 1-1. Sterling had a brilliant header for Man City earlier.
Man City Aguero goal 34' off a great De Bruyne cross.
Halftime with Man City leading 2-1. Man City is playing masterfully.
Wow... Moira substituted for Winks and equalizes the match within 10 seconds! 2-2 at 58'.
Jesus goal 92' waved off since it was set-up by an unintentional handball. (New rule this year.) Match ends in a 2-2 tie. Tottenham came away better than I anticipated.
Wow, Mo Salah, a penalty and a sublime unassisted score in the lower left of the goal. Liverpool up 3-0 at '63 over Arsenal.
Yes, Salah has been looking great as Liverpool spanks Arsenal. At this point, one has to think Liverpool will be fighting for the top spot again this year.
Newcastle leading the Spurs 1-0. I hope Tott can show more aggressive soon. They need to get Eriksen in the game! Enough with the punishment for him talking about looking for greener pastures.
Half Time and still 1-0.
Finally, Eriksen entering the match!
Despite dominating possession time, Tott could not mount a credible attack. Ugh!! Newcastle 1-0 over Tottenham.

Good games, I watched a little of the City game now waiting to watch PSG play in the French League!!
Going into +4 stoppage time with Southampton holding its own against Man United 1-1.
Ends in a draw. Man U still having problems getting it together.
With 7 minutes of regular time remaining, Liverpool will most likely cruise to an easy 3-0 victory over Burnley.
Indeed, Liverpool took the match 3-0. They enter the first league break in first place.
Arsenal / Tottenham just underway on NBCSN...
Eriksen 10' with an open net goal. Nice set up by Lamela.
Kane 39' with a penalty kick. Tottenham 2-0 over Arsenal.
Lacosete 46' scores in stoppage time for Arsenal. Arsenal 1 - 2 Tottenham.
Arsenal right back in it. Aubameyang 70' with a goal to tie the score at 2-2.
I'm hoping Tottenham can hold on for a draw. Arsenal's front 3 are overwhelming Tott's defense.
A draw: Arsenal 2 - 2 Tottenham. Tott let Ars claw their way back into the game.
Tottenham is really turning it on today. It isn't quite half-time yet and Tottenham is already up 4 - 0 over Crystal Palace.
Tottenham won it 4 - 0-. They moved on to the next game at half time.
Norwich City is leading Man City 2 - 0. That's a shocker. Hopefully, MC will get their act together.
Aguero 45' finds the net in stoppage time. Norwich City 2 - 1 over Man City.
One eye on Georgia Dawgs v Arkansas, although that one is pretty much over before halftime, with GA leading 34-0. Another eye is on the Penn State v Pitt game, which is a closer game than I thought it would be...Penn State is leading 7-0. The other eye is on the Man City v Norwich City Game. (I thank Carlos Castaneda for the third eye.)
Tottenham shouldn't have lost this one to Leicester 2 - 1. But they did!
Man City vanquished Watford 8 - 0. Silva had a hat-trick in that one. It's good to have De Bruyne back for Man City. He is playing fantastic!
Tottenham stinkin' things up... Brighton 3 Tottenham 0 at 66'. Quite the disappointment!
Once again, Tottenham is stinkin' up the pitch, trailing Watford 1 - 0 with 15' remaining. Ugh!
The game finishes in a 1 - 1 tie. Alli scored a controversial goal (possible handball) late in the match.
With 25 minutes left, Man U is ahead of league leading Liverpool 1 - 0. If they hold on, it will could really change the trajectory of the season.
Liverpool managed a goal and played to a tie. They'll take it over what appeared to be an impending loss.
Hey now! Pulisic scores not just his first EPL goal but his first Hat Trick vs. Burnely.
I was hoping Tottenham would make some headway by beating Chelsea today, but it is 2 - 0 Chelsea with 36:00 left in regulation time. Drat!
Harry Kane to Real Madrid. For me, that's disappointing, but it's probably good for Kane's career.

Harry Kane to Real Madrid. For me, that's disappointing, but it's probably good for Kane's career.
I see him have success in a less physical La Liga, now Neymar back to Barca!
The Neymar side sounds pretty firm that he'll stay put at Paris, but in these uncertain times, nothing is certain. (Now, there's an astute observation!)
Watching AstonVilla v. Chesea...Chesea takes the lead with goals by Pulisic and Giroud within a min in the 2nd half.
The piped in crowd noise isn't working for me, as you know there are no fans , and the croud noise isn't reacting to what is on the field. The play is good though, other than getting the marxist organisation slogan getting pushed into my face every second.
Cool to have the Tott Spurs sitting on top of the EPL at the moment. You don't see it very often, and I'm not sure how long it will last, although I'd love to finish the season this way. They have a match with Liverpool (2) on Wed. It'll be interesting.
