The picture quality on my Buzztv3000 seems to be getting worse ( lower quality). how can I get get a better picture. I have the setting set to AUTO and it is no better or different than with it set to 1080i. What good is a $K TV if I can only get 480 quality at best.

What better box is there to buy with good price, easy of use and good picture.

I don't think there's a box with a "better" picture quality than the Buzz. There are a bunch with equal quality, but the Buzz is one of the top of the line boxes. Opinions here will differ, but in reality, the Buzz is one of the best.

If you're getting poor quality picture, it very likely could be the channel being fed just has an inherently poor quality picture from the source. Also, it could be your HDMI cable is going bad; try another cable to see if that clears it up. Then it could be the Buzz box itself. It may be possible the video chips are going bad. Perhaps you were hit with a power surge or something that burned something out. Could be your TV settings and not box settings.

If you have another box, or even another brand of box try switching between them to see if there is a quality difference.

IPTV services are encoded Progressive, not interlaced.
if source is SD or 720, it won't look better with TV at 1080.
Many channels say 720 or 1080, but are definitely not. (source starts out at 720 and they transcode it up to 1080).
Every transcoding process will degrade the final picture quality.
*Even your TV being set to 1080i instead of auto, will degrade your picture.
Best settings on STB should have AFR enabled (automatic frame rate adjustment) and output resolution set to auto, and use a TV that will adjust automatically.
