Upon powering on your EZ Player for the first time, and after the EZ intro splash screen has run it's course and then depending if you have connected an active internet connection thru Ethernet before powering up or not...
-If you have no Ethernet connected yet, then you will be taken to the EZ Player's Launcher screen. It will show 2 options/shortcuts. Setting and Browser.
-If you have connected an Ethernet already and have an active connection before powering up for the first time, then you will see the same Splashscreen and the Launcher screen will appear with them same two shortcuts, but because it has an active connection, you may or should get a pop-up message appear asking you if you want to load the newest firmware update. That popup message will not appear instantly so wait about 30 seconds and it should appear.
If it does not appear at all, do not worry as we will then continue with setting the box up and then once that is complete we can update the firmware.
Regardless of weather the update was done, you will be taken to that same Launcher screen with the 2 shortcuts.
At this time you can enter the Settings and browse thru there and even set things up from there too like your WiFi or Ethernet.
You can enter the Browser shortcut and go online into a Google Chrome Browser (if you have connected online).
But do not do any of that just yet.
Instead while on that Launcher screen, enter thru your remote the following code
12369
Now things will change and you will be taken to a sequence of setup menus.
Language, Time, Screen, Network
Enter these and setup as needed. Then use the Finish option and you are done the initial setup.
You will be instantly taken back to your Launcher screen, but now that has changed too.
It will now show LiveTV , Vod, TV Series and APPS shortcuts and along with a Settings shortcut.
Your IPTV Server can be setup thru the LiveTV or Vod options.
If you open the APPs shortcut, you will find in there an UPDATE app (scroll down the screen to see the complete list of apps).
BUT this is not where we will get our firmware update from.
Instead go back to Launcher screen and open the Settings shortcut. In there you will find the Update option that we need. Open that and do the update if you have not yet.
Read the release notes shown there before you do the update.
In this same Setting menu (thru the Launcher Setting shortcut) are other things that you can explore.
Advanced Setup will take you to the Android's main settings menus.
-Factory data default is there.
-Uninstall App is there.
-System Info is there.
and more...
Back on your Launcher screen and seen next to the Setting shortcut is a plus and minus icon.
This will allow you to add onto the Launcher screen any apps you have installed on your device, as shortcuts.
Remove them too if wanted.
