Any way to get both HDMI and NTSC at the same time?

I have the HDMI hooked to my TV. Then I went to hook up the NTSC outputs to my RF Modulator. That works just fine for all of my FTAs. That way, I can make a channel and distribute it to the whole house on every TV. Anyway, I hooked it up but I only get strange message about wrong TV mode???? Say what? I can only have one output at a time? Is that true? Nobody thought to make NTSC available all the time?

Maybe I am not seeing something here. Sometimes I can be pretty dense. Is there something I am missing?

If only one or the other, is there an easy remote control thing to simply cycle through the modes to get the right one?

I had the same problem so I found that reducing the video resolution to NTSC and then force the DVI option to on (outer portal VIDEO setting) . I do this using an rf mod so I can watch the same thing in the bedroom, also using an RCA remote signaler so I can use the remote also in the bedroom....lazy huh?. Hope this helps...

You can split the HDMI if you want to use it on two separate TVs. I use my Mag on two separate TVs in different rooms, but I convert one to component and use a cat5 with baluns to send it to my bedroom where I reconvert it to HDMI, because I have multiple HDMI inputs and only one component, composite input on my second TV. I do the same with the SPDIF audio, but I have to convert it from optical to coax.

Actually, I have it more complicated then that, because I use the component on my Dreamlink the same way, so I run the component from both boxes to a remote controlled component switch box in the living room. This way I only have one Cat5 running the 50 ft to my bedroom.

It sounds complicated, but once you figure it out, it's really simple.

I was doing exactly that with a coax to my bedroom TV, until I redid it with HDMI. You have to set the box to NTSC. If you want to send it to the whole house with Hi Def, you can try this: I haven't tried it so I don't know if it will work with HI Def. Get one of those things that convert your signal to a specific channel and tune your TVs to that channel. Then you can use it all over the house with one conversion.

If your sending HDMI via splitter, you may need a distribution amp to go more than 50", because of HDCP problems, especially if splitting more than once. Only way to find out is to try it. If you only get snow or have picture problems it's either or both distance or HDCP.

If your talking about the cat5 run, I get HD on both.
