View Full Version : XPL3000 EPG Incredibly Slow?

I am using one of the Special Edition 2018 BuzzTV XPL3000 boxes and the EPG is incredibly slow to load program information in the main "Live TV" app. I've seen many reviews praising the guide for it's speed so I feel like I'm missing something. When I open the EPG it takes about 2 seconds for each channel to load it's program information and it loads one channel at a time, so it takes a total of about 14 seconds to load the whole page. If I go down one row to display a new channel, it takes 2 seconds to load that one as well. If I press Page Down, I start again with a fill 14 seconds to load the whole view. Is this experience typical? It makes the EPG very frustrating to use.
I've ran both updates for the app and the system and both are up to date (at least based on the "check update" feature). I'm using Fab as my provider, if that makes any difference.
Is there any fix for this or setting that I can update to improve the experience? I've searched online and looked through the various settings on the device and haven't been able to locate anything that would seem to help.
Thanks in advance for any help with this. I'd love to get this box to a place where it's friendly for everyone in my house to use.

how did you clear the cache ?....from the Buzztv2 app itself........or just the cleaner in the main dashboard of the box.......

I did the cleaner on the dashboard and for the Buzztv2 app through the system settings. I don't see anywhere to do it inside of the Buzztv2 app itself.

Are you using IPTV services promoted by this Forum....?

settings/more/apps/system apps
This is exactly what I did..that's what I meant when I said "for the Buzztv2 app through the system settings". Sorry if that wasn't the correct terminology. That seems like system settings to me.

might be a provider issue, that's where the guide generates from, try asking your provider, only supported services of this forum can be discussed here, guide should load instantly

New update was released today I read somewhere else, please report findings in a new thread
I tried a direct download with a browser and it took almost 30 seconds for a 5Mb file ???
(xml file was also missing xmltv style formatting (no newline or tab characters). Everything on 1 line? (similar to a .json file)).
I download the ks.xml file in under 10 seconds, and it is 23Mb!

there is an option to "offset plus/minus" the epg time if that's what your referring to...Menu>Configuration>EPG Time Offset

I ended up buying another box (Formula Z7+) and it works great. The EPG loads quickly, time shift and PVR actually work. The only thing IMO that the Buzz box has going for it is the interface, which is great. But as a player I found it highly disappointing.

I have both and still love both, but some love has been lost for the buzz lol. Used to have a feature that the formuler/DL boxes couldn't do and that was this: say you switch to a channel at 9:15pm and the show started at 9pm. You could hit rewind on the buzz and it would rewind to 9pm...as long as your sub had catchup. With the z7+ you could only rewind back to the time you changed to that channel. Loved that feature as I never had to worry about starting a show on time or waiting for it to finish in order to use cathcup. Now that the feature doesn't work since the update (at least I can't do it on my box) my vote goes to z7+. I still use both though!

I have both the Android 6 & 7 XPL3000's and the Android 6 starts up and changes the channels faster.
What's up with that?
