I have use the instructions below but theTV guide is blank.. is there an issue with these settings?
2.- Open the config page of Simple Client in KODI. Under the 'general' tab set LOCATION to Local Path and M3U PLAY LIST PATH to where you stored the
edited m3u file (NewList.m3u)
3.- Under the 'EPG settings' tab set LOCATION to Remote Path and XMLTV URL to
Code:
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/viper8690/epg/master/guide.xml
I did not need to set anything else on that tab.
4.- Under 'Channels Logos' just select Prefer XMLTV
5.- Finally in SYSTEM - SETTINGS select the TV tab and then 'Guide' and select CLEAR DATA... this will eliminate any old epg data you have stored.
That guide hasn't been updated in over a year.
The two working guides:
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/kens13/epg/master/guide_kens.xml
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/acidjesuz/epg/master/guide.xml
You are better off looking/posting in the Kodi > EPG area farther down the page.

Just FYI - kens guide is a 4 day guide updated every 3 days (data usually not required such as Actors, Directors, Ratings etc. has been removed to speed up loading).
AJ's guide is a 24hr guide updated daily ( but includes all data mentioned above)
Both have their benefits.
- Disable PVR IPTV Simple client.
- Click Configure the EPG Settings.
- Change the URL to the new address.
- Enable Apply Time Shift to All Channels (You adjust the time shift offset by + 1.0hrs during Daylight Savings (if used in your locality)
Click OK to Save your settings (but Do Not Enable yet).
Go to system Settings/ PVR & LiveTV - General tab.
Click Clear Data and confirm by OK, then go back to PVR settings and Enable.
