View Full Version : 2018 Indy Car Series thread
I deleted the Indy 500 thread. Keep things on topic.
So far, at Indy... 4 crashes...
Danica out at 68, spinning like Ed Jones did due to bad air., then another takes out Bourdais. Seems like they need some down force.
Now Helio, same place, turn 4. wow.
Just ridiculous now. Another restart, another loose car. Karam out.
Rossi didn't win the "Amazing Race", but he's charged from the back to #3.

and it's not even raining
Kanan out with 12 to go. Shame. Pit strategy is now huge.
Oh, two guys out of gas, and Will Power takes the lead with 4 to go.
Will Power finally wins the Indy 500!
Aussie, Aussie, Oy, Oy, Oy. Is there an Australian Nascar driver? 2 of 3. LOL.

Congratz to Will Power on His WIN...! Appropriate Name for a Speed Racer...!
So, no Nascar today, but there is Indy Car at Pocono at 2pm Eastern on NBCSN.
Bad crash, one driver (Robert Wickens) had to be helo-vac'ed and the catch fence is being repaired under a red flag. He touched wheels with Hunter-Reay and went airborne into the fence... took 12 minutes to extract him from his car. 3 other racers were also involved. At least 1 hour before restart.
Good news, Wickens was awake and alert before getting transported. There is weather in the area, so there might be other problems in getting this race in.
Alexander Rossi wins his third race of the season, after the long red flag, leading 180 of 200 laps. He won the Long Beach GP, as well as last weeks Mid-Ohio. Still, that early crash is probably one of the most violent in recent history, but drivers accept the risk.

some bad crashes in this sport. When they come apart like that, makes it hard to believe anyone could survive

Not looking great for Rossi thus far... He went into a spin early and that put Dixon quite a ways a head of him
Showing the race on a SN channel (SN360) on my home service... Don't know which channel it might be found on iptv thou
F1 race is on ESPNews US channel... but so far have not found the Indy finale :(
Rossi is now right behind Dixon now but is one lap down... But Rossi is putting pressure on Dixon hoping Dixon will make an error .... haaa !
Dixon should just let him by and solve that situation but good :)
The race is on NBCSN on IPTV,

Scott Dixon joins the great AJ Foyt (with 7 championships) as a 5 time Indy Champion.

I saw a tweeter feed today with Wickens.
He is still in hospital but is in good spirits. He watched the race today.
Also said he would be doing everything he could to be back in a race car
Congrats to Scott Dixon, but I would have liked to see Rossi up there. Good guy, and in the Andretti stable.
