Time zone and guide

When i put the mag 256 in my time zone, the guide is offset by 2 hours.
I don`t have access where you can select the country,i only can change the time zone
Does anyone have that problem

I am wondering if anyone has tried this, or if it may result in a workaround Fix for the MAG / DL (Stalker) EPG guide offset problem.
I figure if it does work, the STB Time will be off, but the EPG guide data will be correct.
I do not have any of these Units, so if someone can try this and feedback the results. /Thank You

When setting up the MAG unit, the NTP server is usually entered as "pool.ntp.org".
This will search for the closest time server and save the closest servers to your location.
You cannot adjust the Timezone as it is automatic.
You can though, enter a timeserver from another country or zone, that is offset time wise, of your guide data.
The format URL is "xx.pool.ntp.org" where the xx is the country or region.

I tried it with the Canadian and US (GMT-5),but the tv guide stayed 2hrs ahead of my local time.

That is not how to use it.
If you use Canada or US Servers, and you are in Can/US, it will still localize you to the closest Time Server in that Country, which will still be your Timezone.
I dont have a map in front of me, but you need to use a country or region that has only timezones outside of where you are (and specifically a timezone with an offset you require).
Example;
I am in Mountain Time Zone(UTC-7) in Canada and I want Eastern Time(UTC-5). (-2 Hr. Time shift)
I would use Colombia — co.pool.ntp.org -or- Peru — pe.pool.ntp.org
The Time code would be (UTC-5) since there is only 1 zone.

Strange. On a 254 there is the option to pick the country and the nearest City which in turn sets the clock.

Thanks for the feedback.
As I mentioned, i dont have a MAG, so I could not test.
I downloaded a Time test emulator on my PC, turned off Internet time, and used a few different regions, and it worked perfectly.
If your system time has been changed, your Guide time should adjust accordingly???
